The CLEVELAND C41641 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal and profile milling in metalworking applications. Manufactured from high speed steel, it features a 1 inch cutting diameter and a 30-degree helix angle that promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a range of workpiece materials. With 2 spiral flutes and a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration, this end mill delivers consistent performance on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. It is centercutting, which allows plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat provides positive drive and secure tool holding in standard milling chucks and collets.
The C41641 is suited for general-purpose milling operations in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. Its regular-length geometry makes it a practical choice for face milling, slot milling, and shoulder milling on ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The HG-2 series designation places it within a standard high speed steel end mill line intended for conventional and light climb milling cuts on manual mills and CNC machining centers alike. Machinists and toolroom operators working with cast iron, aluminum, brass, and low-to-medium carbon steels will find this end mill appropriate for general roughing and finishing passes.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully into the tool holder so the Weldon flat aligns with the set screw for positive engagement. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout shortens tool life and degrades surface finish. Feed rates and speeds should be selected based on workpiece material, depth of cut, and machine rigidity.
