The CLEVELAND C41632 is a 2-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose material removal and slotting in metalworking applications. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS), it features a 13/16 inch (0.8125 inch) cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat measures 5/8 inch in diameter for secure tool holder engagement. A 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation. This is a centercutting tool, meaning it can be fed directly into a workpiece for plunge operations as well as conventional peripheral milling. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual mills and CNC machining centers.
The C41632 belongs to the Cleveland HG-2 series and is suited for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The uncoated HSS construction makes it a practical choice for shops that resharpen tooling in-house or require a cost-effective general-purpose cutter. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for use in conventional milling setups. The regular length classification keeps tool deflection manageable in typical depth-of-cut scenarios on knee mills, bed mills, and vertical machining centers.
Designed for use in milling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Fits any tool holder accepting a 5/8 inch straight shank with Weldon flat, including standard R8 collets, end mill holders, and side-lock holders on manual and CNC mills.
A licensed machinist or qualified toolroom technician should install and operate this end mill. Before mounting, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the Weldon flat to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly in CNC applications where tool deflection affects part tolerance.
