The CLEVELAND C39092 is a 2-flute square end mill designed for material removal and profiling operations in machine shop and production environments. Built from high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it offers increased surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 11/16 inch (0.6875 inch) in diameter with a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank that also features a Weldon flat for positive drive in standard end mill holders. With a 2-1/4 inch length of cut and 5-1/4 inch overall length, this is a long-series tool suited for applications requiring extended reach into deep pockets or tall workpiece features.
The C39092 is intended for milling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole, making it effective for slot milling, pocket roughing, and profile work on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration follows standard conventions for CNC and conventional milling setups. The 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across the supported workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for applications requiring a 3/4 inch shank, 11/16 inch diameter, 2-flute square end mill in standard end mill holders or Weldon-flat collet chucks. Suitable for cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel workpieces as listed by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the holder to prevent tool pull-out under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning a cut, and confirm feed and speed parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
