The CLEVELAND C33703 is a double-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in machine shops and manufacturing environments. Built from high speed steel with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) finish, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.3438 inches (11/32 inches) in diameter with a 0.5625-inch (9/16-inch) length of cut, a 0.375-inch (3/8-inch) straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat, and a 3.5-inch overall length. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Machinists and CNC operators use this tool for slotting, profiling, and light peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in both manual and CNC milling applications. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. The regular-length body fits standard toolholders commonly found in job shop and production milling setups. It belongs to the Cleveland HD-2 series, which targets high-demand general-purpose milling at moderate cutting speeds.
Designed for use with standard 3/8-inch straight-shank end mill holders and Weldon-style set-screw toolholders. Suitable for machining cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces as part of the Cleveland HD-2 series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder and tighten the set screw against the Weldon flat before initiating any spindle movement. Confirm spindle rotation direction is right-hand before engaging the cut. Inspect both cutting ends for chipping or wear before use, and handle with care — HSS cutting edges are sharp and brittle.
