The CLEVELAND C33678 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for precision milling operations in machine shop and production environments. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it delivers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 11/16 inch (0.6875 inch) in diameter with a 1-5/16 inch length of cut and a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for positive drive. Overall length is 5-5/8 inches. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the centercutting design allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The regular-length geometry fits standard knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual milling machines where a 3/4 inch collet or end mill holder is available. The Series HD-2 designation places it in a heavy-duty double-end category, making it a practical choice for shops that want to extend tool life by flipping to the second end before discarding.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the Weldon flat to the holder manufacturer's specification to prevent pullout. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and verify that spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and cut depth.
