The CLEVELAND C33444 is a 4-flute, square-end, single-end mill designed for material removal and profile milling in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The cutting diameter is 0.375 inches, the length of cut is 2.5 inches, and the overall length is 4.25 inches, placing it in the extra-long length category. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle provide efficient chip evacuation. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments.
The C33444 is suited for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Its extra-long length of cut — 2.5 inches — makes it appropriate for deep slot milling, side milling, and profiling operations where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accepts standard ER collets and side-lock holders with a 3/8-inch bore. The HG-4C series is built for general-purpose machining where a balance of tool life and cut performance is required across a range of workpiece materials.
The C33444 is a general-purpose HSS TiN-coated square end mill in the Cleveland HG-4C series, suitable for use in any 3/8-inch end mill holder or collet chuck on manual mills and CNC machining centers. Rated for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpiece materials.
Install and remove tooling only with the machine spindle at a full stop and locked out per applicable machine guarding and OSHA standards. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque the set screw against the Weldon flat — do not clamp on the fluted section. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut. Cutting parameters including speed and feed should be selected based on workpiece material and machine rigidity; consult the Cleveland tooling data sheet for recommended starting values.
