The CLEVELAND C33406 is a 4-flute, single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from high speed steel with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) finish, this tool delivers increased surface hardness and heat resistance compared to uncoated HSS, extending tool life in demanding cutting applications. It features a 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry and is centercutting, allowing plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and toolroom operators will find this a reliable general-purpose end mill for medium-duty stock removal and finishing.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in both production and toolroom environments. The 3/16 inch diameter and 1-1/4 inch length of cut make it well-matched for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in tighter geometries. The straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and set-screw style toolholders. It fits within the CLEVELAND HG-4C series, which is engineered for general-purpose high speed steel milling across a range of common workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders and Weldon-style set-screw toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank. Compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and steel workpiece materials as designated by material codes K, N, and P. Part of the CLEVELAND HG-4C series for general-purpose HSS milling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully powered down and locked out per applicable machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the toolholder to prevent axial pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting before beginning a cut. Inspect cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
