The CLEVELAND C33392 is a 4-flute square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutting diameter is 0.4375 inches (7/16 inch) with a 1.75-inch length of cut and a 0.500-inch straight cylindrical shank that also accepts a Weldon flat drive. The 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. This end mill is centercutting, allowing it to plunge directly into material. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
The C33392 is suited for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in both manual and CNC machining environments. Its regular-length profile fits standard milling setups where reach is not a constraint. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration matches the standard spindle rotation of most vertical and horizontal mills. This tool is part of the CLEVELAND HG-4C series, which is designed for general-purpose high-performance milling on production floors and job shops alike.
Designed for use in standard milling machine collets and end mill holders accepting a 0.500-inch shank diameter. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as specified by the manufacturer for the HG-4C series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank using a properly torqued collet or Weldon flat set-screw holder appropriate for a 0.500-inch shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy.
