The CLEVELAND C33252 is a 4-flute, single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a range of common workpiece materials. It is manufactured from High Speed Steel (HSS) with a Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) finish that increases surface hardness and wear resistance. The cutting diameter is 0.3125 inches (5/16 inch) with a length of cut of 0.75 inches, an overall length of 2.5 inches, and a 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for secure toolholder engagement. This tool belongs to Cleveland's HG-4C series and is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual and CNC milling machines.
The C33252 is suited for face milling, slotting, and peripheral milling in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into a workpiece without a pre-drilled hole, making it practical for die work, profiling, and pocket milling. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional vertical milling setups. It is a regular-length tool appropriate for general-purpose shop applications where reach is not a constraint.
Designed for use in standard milling chucks and Weldon-style side-lock holders accepting a 0.375-inch shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel per HG-4C series design parameters.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and tighten the set screw against the Weldon flat to prevent axial pullout. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, and confirm cutting parameters against the applicable material and coating guidelines for HSS-TiCN tooling.
