The CLEVELAND C33222 is a 4-flute, square-end, high speed steel end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in machine shops and production environments. It features a 7/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-7/8-inch length of cut, and a 3/4-inch straight cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for positive tool retention. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish increases surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a range of workpiece materials. This tool is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without pre-drilling.
The C33222 is suited for face milling, slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces including steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The regular-length configuration and 4-1/8-inch overall length make it a practical fit for knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC milling machines operating with standard tool holders. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are consistent with conventional spindle rotation on most horizontal and vertical mills.
Designed for use in standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, or Weldon-flat set-screw holders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel (P), cast iron (K), and non-ferrous metals (N) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the tool holder manufacturer's torque specifications for set screws. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Confirm shank seating depth meets the minimum engagement requirement of your tool holder to prevent pullout under load. Inspect the TiN coating and cutting edges before each use and replace the tool if chipping or wear is observed.
