The CLEVELAND C32659 is a 4-flute cobalt square end mill engineered for demanding material removal in ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers improved heat resistance and edge retention compared to standard HSS tooling. The 3/8-inch diameter cutting head pairs with a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat, offering secure tool holding at the spindle. A 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while the centercutting design allows plunge entry. This end mill belongs to the HGC-4C long-series line, suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual mills or CNC machining centers.
The C32659 is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations in steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys. The long-series length type and 1-1/2-inch length of cut accommodate deeper pockets and stepped features where standard-length end mills fall short. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with conventional spindle rotation on standard vertical mills and CNC machining centers. It is a practical choice for job shop and production environments where tooling must hold up to interrupted cuts and abrasive workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard 3/8-inch end mill holders and Weldon-style set-screw tool holders. Primary workpiece materials listed by the manufacturer are high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel (material codes M, P, and S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the Weldon flat to rated holder torque specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application before engaging the workpiece.
