The CLEVELAND C32581 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to M42 cobalt grade, it delivers the heat and wear resistance needed when cutting stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and steel. The cutter measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.625-inch length of cut and a 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank with Weldon flat. A 30-degree spiral flute geometry with four flutes promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
The C32581 is suited for milling operations on ferrous metals, stainless steel grades, and high-temperature alloys in both job shop and production environments. It fits manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills with standard R8 or collet toolholding systems that accept a 0.375-inch shank. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional spindle rotation. The HGC-4C series is targeted at applications where cobalt outperforms standard HSS tooling due to elevated cutting temperatures or abrasive workpiece materials.
Designed for use in toolholders and collet systems accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel, corresponding to ISO material codes M, P, and S.
A licensed machinist or qualified shop technician should install and set this end mill. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended grip depth before torquing the set screw against the Weldon flat. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after setup, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces tool life on cobalt tooling.
