The CLEVELAND C32573 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers superior heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter features a 31/64 inch (0.4844 inch) diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and runs with right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry. This tool is part of the HGC-4C series and is suited for milling operations performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual or CNC equipment.
The C32573 is engineered for use on high temperature alloys, stainless steel, and carbon and alloy steels, making it a practical choice for shops working aerospace, oil and gas, or general precision manufacturing applications. The 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and side-lock tool holders. The 3-1/4 inch overall length fits most standard spindle setups without requiring extended-reach tooling. It ships uncoated and is not a variable helix or chipbreaker design, making it straightforward to apply in conventional roughing and finishing passes.
Designed for use on high temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel workpiece materials. Compatible with standard 1/2 inch end mill holders and Weldon-style side-lock holders. Part of the CLEVELAND HGC-4C series.
Installation is performed by machinists using a standard end mill holder or side-lock collet chuck rated for 1/2 inch shanks. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, and confirm the Weldon flat is properly engaged with the set screw before beginning any cut. Refer to the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards for speeds, feeds, and workholding requirements.
