The CLEVELAND C32505 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers superior heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter features a 0.25 inch mill diameter, a 0.50 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation. A TiN (titanium nitride) coating further extends tool life in abrasive cutting environments. This is a centercutting tool, enabling direct plunge entry into the workpiece. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals install and operate this tool in CNC mills and manual knee mills.
The C32505 is rated for primary workpiece materials including high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration suits conventional and climb milling on standard vertical machining centers. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and set-screw-style tool holders commonly used in job shops and production environments. Its regular-length geometry makes it appropriate for general-purpose pocketing, slotting, and peripheral milling operations.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders and Weldon-style tool holders accepting a 0.375 inch shank diameter. Suitable for milling high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. Part of the Cleveland HGC-2 series.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with cutting tool setup procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Torque set screws against the Weldon flat according to the tool holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to maximize tool life and surface finish quality.
