The CLEVELAND C32438 is a high speed steel drill mill designed for combined drilling and milling operations on metal workpieces. With a 0.750-inch mill diameter, a 1.3125-inch length of cut, and a 90-degree point angle, this tool transitions between plunge cutting and peripheral milling without a tool change. The 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter during side milling passes. Two flutes keep the tool light and rigid for the diameter, making it a practical choice for shops running general-purpose metalworking operations on manual mills and CNC machining centers alike.
This drill mill is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metal applications where a single tool needs to spot, drill, and profile in one setup. The uncoated high speed steel construction makes it straightforward to resharpen in-house using standard HSS grinding equipment. It is appropriate for job shop, maintenance, and toolroom environments where versatility across materials and operations is more important than maximum throughput. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling machine spindles.
Designed as an OEM-style drill mill for use in standard 3/4-inch collets, end mill holders, or drill chucks on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with cutting tool setup and machine tool operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the tool from its holder. Secure the 0.750-inch shank fully within the collet or holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against published HSS cutting data for the workpiece material before beginning the cut.
