The CLEVELAND C31934 is a 6-flute square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in ferrous and hard materials. Built from M42 powdered metal with a TiN (titanium nitride) finish, it delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance compared to standard high-speed steel. The 3/4-inch diameter matches the shank diameter, keeping the profile compact for stub-length applications. A 37-degree spiral helix angle improves chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in deep-side-wall passes. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill fits stub-length milling applications where rigidity and minimal deflection are priorities. The PM-4 series designation places it in Cleveland's powdered metal lineup, suited for milling alloy steels, tool steels, stainless, and similar hard-to-cut materials. With a 3/4-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length, it is a practical choice for shoulder milling, slotting, and profiling operations in job shops and production environments.
Designed for use in standard 3/4-inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Suitable for the PM-4 series stub-length application range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder to prevent pull-out under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning a cut.
