The CLEVELAND C30536 is a straight-shank chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and industrial machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer features 8 spiral flutes in a right-hand cut configuration for smooth material removal and accurate bore sizing. At 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) diameter with a 9-inch overall length and a 2.25-inch flute length, it delivers consistent results in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this style of reamer to bring drilled or bored holes to tight dimensional tolerances.
The C30536 is suited for manual and CNC machine tool use where a chucking-style reamer is required. It fits standard drill press chucks, milling machine spindles, and CNC turning or machining center toolholding setups. Typical applications include finishing holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials where a precise 5/8-inch bore diameter and smooth surface finish are required. This is a general-purpose reamer appropriate for both production runs and one-off precision work in manufacturing and maintenance environments.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in drill presses, milling machines, lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with standard straight-shank toolholding. Suitable for finishing nominal 5/8-inch holes in a variety of machinable metals.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists using a drill chuck, collet, or straight-shank toolholder appropriate to the machine spindle. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle speed is set to the recommended reaming RPM for the material being cut before engaging the reamer. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Never use a worn or damaged reamer — inspect flutes and the shank for runout before use.
