The CLEVELAND C25339 is a straight-flute chucking reamer manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) for precision hole finishing in metal working applications. Sized to wire gauge 16 with a decimal diameter of 0.1770 inches, it delivers accurate, repeatable bore dimensions in drilled holes where tight tolerances are required. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose HSS reamers operating at conventional cutting speeds. With an overall length of 4.5 inches and a 6-flute geometry, this tool provides the rigidity and chip clearance needed for clean, smooth surface finishes in production and maintenance environments.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers where the straight shank can be held in a chuck or collet. Wire size 16 reamers in this diameter range are commonly used in light manufacturing, toolroom work, and maintenance repair operations for finishing holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable metals. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional machine setups.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any machine tool equipped with a chuck or collet capable of holding a straight shank in the 0.1770 inch diameter class.
Chucking reamers should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the workpiece and machine spindle are properly secured before beginning the reaming operation. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Never run a reamer in reverse, as this will damage the cutting edges.
