The CLEVELAND C16792 is a taper length cobalt drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling across a wide range of materials. Built to Series 2575 specifications, it features a 5/16-inch (0.3125 inch) diameter with a 135-degree split point for self-centering entry and reduced walking on hard surfaces. The parabolic flute geometry promotes fast chip evacuation and cooler cutting, making it well-suited for prolonged use in demanding shop and field environments. At 6.375 inches overall length with a 4-inch flute, this bit provides extended reach over standard jobber-length drills while maintaining rigidity. Licensed machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This drill bit is rated for use in aluminum, brass, carbon steel, cast iron, nickel alloy, plastic, stainless steel, and tool steel. The cobalt construction (M42 grade) gives it the heat resistance needed for tough alloys like stainless steel and nickel-based materials where high-speed steel bits tend to break down. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for ferrous and stainless steel applications to extend tool life.
