The CLEVELAND C16576 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for heavy-duty metal drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a gold oxide coating, this bit resists heat buildup and maintains cutting edge integrity in tough materials. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and requires no center punch on most workpieces. At 5.125 inches overall length with a 3.75-inch parabolic flute, it delivers fast chip evacuation and reduced friction in deep holes. Licensed tradespeople and machinists reach for this bit when standard HSS tooling falls short.
This bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The parabolic flute geometry and web-thinned tapered web make it well suited for production drilling and repetitive through-hole work in fabrication shops, HVAC equipment assembly, plumbing rough-in on metal studs, and electrical panel work requiring clean holes in steel enclosures. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks without modification. Right-hand cut is the standard orientation for conventional drill press and hand-drill operation.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and carbon steel workpieces. Fits any standard drill press or hand drill with a three-jaw chuck accepting a 25/64-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the Cleveland Series 2075 heavy-duty cobalt drill line.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists, fabricators, or trade professionals using a standard drill press, magnetic drill, or hand drill. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant on stainless steel and cast iron to extend bit life, noting this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace if chipping or heat discoloration is observed at the tip.
