The CLEVELAND C16521 is a jobber-length twist drill bit in wire gauge size 19, equivalent to 0.1660 inches in diameter. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a gold oxide coating, it is engineered for heavy-duty drilling in tough materials where standard HSS bits lose edge quickly. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements at the start of the cut. A parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation in deep holes. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 2.125-inch flute length, it fits standard three-jaw and keyless chucks and works with benchtop drill presses, hand drills, and mill spindles. Licensed tradespeople and machinists reach for this bit when production drilling demands both heat resistance and edge retention.
This bit is suited for drilling cast iron, carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Common applications include drilling pilot and clearance holes in structural steel, pipe flanges, HVAC brackets, and electrical enclosures. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard chucks without the slip risk associated with reduced-shank designs. Series 2075 indicates Cleveland's heavy-duty jobber line, built to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use jobber drill bit for standard three-jaw chucks accepting a 0.1660-inch straight-cylindrical shank, conforming to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 dimensional standards.
Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate for the workpiece material to maximize bit life, particularly when drilling stainless steel. Operate at spindle speeds appropriate for the material and diameter per standard machining reference tables. Ensure the workpiece is clamped securely to prevent rotation or movement during drilling.
