The CLEVELAND C16077 is a taper length drill bit from the Series 2565 line, designed for professionals who need greater reach than a jobber-length bit without stepping up to a full extra-long configuration. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it measures 6.75 inches in overall length with a 4.25-inch flute length and a 23/64-inch diameter (0.3594 inches). The 118-degree notched point angle and web-thinned, tapered web design reduce entry force and improve chip clearance at the cutting face. The parabolic flute profile evacuates chips efficiently, making this bit well-suited for deep-hole work in production and maintenance environments.
This bit is intended for use in metal fabrication, maintenance repair, and general machining applications. The parabolic flute geometry and tanged shank make it a practical choice for use in drill presses and hand-held power drills where extended reach into a workpiece is required. Rated material applications include alloy steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper alloy, stainless steel, and other non-ferrous metals. The right-hand cut orientation is standard for conventional drill press and handheld operation.
Designed as a direct-fit taper length drill bit for use in standard Morse taper drill press spindles and compatible drill chucks that accept a tanged shank. Suitable for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper alloy, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool operator familiar with drill press setup and safe metal-cutting practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Verify that the tanged shank seats fully and securely in the Morse taper socket before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain hole quality.
