Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 118-degree notched point and a parabolic flute design that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced feed force. The 1/8-inch diameter, matching a 0.1250-inch decimal dimension, suits precision drilling in tight-tolerance work. At 5.125 inches overall length with a 2.75-inch flute, this bit delivers the reach needed for deeper hole applications where a jobber-length bit falls short. Manufactured to ASME B94.11M standards, it is sized within a +0.0000 to -0.0005-inch diameter tolerance. Mechanical and metalworking tradespeople are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper alloy, stainless steel, and other non-ferrous metals. Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or metalworking professional. Secure the tanged shank fully into the taper-shank toolholder or drill press spindle before operation and verify seating before applying feed pressure. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material, and use cutting fluid where appropriate for the material being drilled.
