The CLEVELAND C15155 is a cobalt screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiAlN for heat and wear resistance, this bit handles a wide range of workpiece materials without sacrificing edge life. The 135-degree split point reduces walking at startup and lowers thrust force for cleaner entry. At 3.375 inches overall length with a 2.0-inch parabolic flute, the stub-length geometry delivers rigidity in tight setups where a jobber-length bit would deflect or chatter. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.0000 to -0.0010 inches for consistent hole sizing.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and industrial maintenance environments. Its parabolic flute profile promotes efficient chip evacuation at higher feed rates, making it appropriate for CNC drill presses, turret lathes, screw machines, and manual drill presses. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw chucks without modification. Right-hand cut operation is standard for conventional spindle rotation. Series 2175A bits target applications where stub-length rigidity and cobalt heat resistance are required simultaneously.
The C15155 is compatible with drilling operations on aluminum, brass, carbon steel, cast iron, nickel alloy, plastics, stainless steel, and tool steel workpieces. It fits any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.4130-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians familiar with metal-cutting operations. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is de-energized before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Coolant-through capability is not available on this bit, so apply external cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material to maintain tool life.
