The CLEVELAND C15123 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-production drilling applications where rigidity and speed matter. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiAlN for heat and wear resistance, this bit handles demanding materials without sacrificing hole quality. It carries a wire gauge size of No. 33 (0.1130 inches decimal), an overall length of 1-7/8 inches, and a flute length of 7/8 inch. The 135-degree split point starts on contact without a center punch and reduces thrust. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and metalworking professionals are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
This drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum, brass, carbon steel, cast iron, nickel alloy, plastics, stainless steel, and tool steel. The shorter screw machine length body provides added stiffness compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for turret lathes, CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held operations where deflection control and tight tolerances are priorities. It conforms to ANSI specification standards and falls within the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch drill bit size range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for standard straight-shank drill chucks accepting a 0.1130-inch shank diameter across CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and bench drill presses.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or metalworking technicians familiar with proper chuck seating and runout verification. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before loading or removing the bit. Confirm chuck jaws are clean and free of debris to maintain concentricity. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so appropriate external cutting fluid should be applied when drilling steel or nickel alloys to manage heat.
