The CLEVELAND C14822 is a cobalt screw machine length drill bit designed for high-speed drilling in tough materials. At 3.1 mm (0.1220 inches) in diameter, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust force compared to a standard 118-degree point. The web-thinned, parallel web construction keeps the cutting edge aggressive through hard alloy and aluminum stock. With an overall length of 49 mm (1.929 inches) and a flute length of 18 mm, this short-body bit provides added rigidity in drill press, CNC, and screw machine applications. It is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and tool-and-die professionals working in metalworking environments.
This bit is suited for production drilling in alloy steels and aluminum where dimensional accuracy and hole finish are priorities. The screw machine length body reduces deflection in tight setups or short-travel drilling fixtures. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collets without modification. It conforms to ASME B94.11M and DIN 1897 specifications, making it a direct fit for shops that work to ANSI or DIN tooling standards. Right-hand cut geometry is compatible with conventional spindle rotation on all standard drilling equipment.
