The CLEVELAND C14707 is a cobalt screw machine length drill bit sized at letter W (0.3860 inches), designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built to Series 2133 specifications and conforming to ASME B94.11M and DIN 1897 standards, it features a 135-degree split point for fast, accurate starts with minimal walking. The web-thinned, parallel-web construction reduces thrust force and improves chip evacuation. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 1.875-inch flute and a straight cylindrical shank, this is a heavy-duty tool suited for production drilling environments where rigidity and tool life matter.
This bit is engineered for drilling alloy steel and aluminum in screw machine and short-hole drilling applications. The M42 cobalt material grade gives it the heat resistance needed when drilling harder metals at higher feed rates or with limited coolant. Its compact screw machine length provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for CNC lathes, turret lathes, drill presses, and automatic screw machine setups where reach is limited and hole quality is critical. Right-hand cut with a regular spiral and two flutes for standard chip clearance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for drill presses, CNC lathes, turret lathes, and automatic screw machines accepting a 0.3860-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials listed are alloy steel and aluminum.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tool operators familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Do not exceed the machine's rated spindle speed for the workpiece material and bit diameter. No coolant-through capability is present on this bit, so apply cutting fluid externally when drilling alloy steels to extend tool life.
