The CLEVELAND C13163 is an aircraft extension drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight or deep-access applications. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for self-centering entry and reduced walking on hard surfaces. The extended 6-inch overall length gives technicians reach into confined airframe cavities, structural members, and mechanical assemblies where a standard-length bit cannot. The spiral flute design clears chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. Wire gauge size 41 corresponds to a decimal diameter of 0.0960 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance fastener prep work.
This drill bit is suited for aerospace maintenance and repair, sheet metal fabrication, and structural assembly work where extended reach is required. The NAS 907 Type B standard compliance makes it appropriate for aviation MRO environments and general-purpose metalworking shops. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters, and right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional drill press and hand drill operation. Installers working in confined structural bays or deep panel access points will benefit from the 6-inch extension over standard jobber-length bits.
Designed as a general-purpose aircraft extension drill bit conforming to NAS 907 Type B, compatible with standard straight-cylindrical chuck drill presses, pneumatic drills, and hand drills used in aviation MRO and sheet metal fabrication applications.
This bit is installed and operated by machinists, aviation maintenance technicians, and sheet metal workers following applicable shop or airframe maintenance procedures. Secure the straight shank firmly in the drill chuck before operation and verify chuck runout is within acceptable limits to maintain hole tolerance. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Follow all applicable workplace safety and aviation maintenance documentation requirements when drilling structural components.
