The shank is machined to a No. 1 Morse Taper (1MT) for direct mounting in compatible drill press spindles and milling machine quills. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with an oxide finish, the C12170 is built to handle the heat and abrasion typical of production and maintenance drilling operations. Cutting direction is right-hand with a regular spiral flute pattern.
