The CLEVELAND C11700 is a jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size 46, with a decimal diameter of 0.0810 inches. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point and web-thinned geometry that reduces walking and lowers feed force on entry. It is a heavy-duty grade bit rated to NAS 907 Type B standards. With an overall length of 2.125 inches and a 0.750-inch flute length, it is sized for compact, precision drilling in light metal and soft material applications. Licensed HVAC and mechanical trade technicians, machinists, and sheet metal workers who need consistent small-diameter hole quality will find this bit well-suited to repetitive production work.
This bit is designed primarily for drilling aluminum and similar light-metal workpieces, making it applicable in fabrication shops, HVAC duct and panel work, and general mechanical assembly where wire gauge sizing is specified. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. The regular spiral flute promotes chip evacuation in through-hole applications. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit. It is sold individually with a minimum order multiple of 12 units.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation jobber-length drill bit for applications specifying NAS 907 Type B, wire gauge size 46, with a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is aluminum as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, or trade technicians using a standard drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle with a compatible chuck accepting a 0.0810-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout before beginning production drilling. Coolant-through is not supported; use external lubrication appropriate for the workpiece material when required. Inspect the cutting edge for wear regularly, as small-diameter bits in this size range are susceptible to breakage under side load or excessive feed pressure.
