The CLEVELAND C11678 is a jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 24, with a decimal diameter of 0.1520 inches. It is manufactured from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish and a 135-degree split point angle. The split point reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements compared to a conventional 118-degree point. The web-thinned, tapered web design improves chip clearance and cutting efficiency. At 3.125 inches overall length with a 1.000-inch flute length, this is a standard jobber format suited for bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling operations. Licensed tradespeople and machinists performing light-gauge drilling work are the primary installers.
This bit is rated for aluminum as its primary workpiece material and is appropriate for production drilling and general-purpose metalworking applications. The right-hand spiral flute and straight-cylindrical shank allow direct chucking in standard drill presses and hand-held power tools without adapters. It meets NAS 907 Type B specification, making it suitable for aerospace-adjacent and precision manufacturing environments where dimensional tolerances are critical. The bit is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 12 units per order.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.1520-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is aluminum; also suitable for general metalworking applications consistent with high speed steel tooling. Conforms to NAS 907 Type B specification.
Install in a keyed or keyless chuck and verify the shank is fully seated and centered before operation. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals should apply an appropriate cutting fluid when drilling aluminum to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Inspect the cutting edges and web for wear or chipping before each use — a dull or damaged split point will increase thrust load and reduce hole quality. Follow shop safety protocols including eye protection and secure workpiece fixturing at all times.
