The CLEVELAND C11670 is a jobber-length twist drill bit sized to wire gauge 16, measuring 0.1770 inches in diameter. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit is designed for accurate hole-making in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and requires less feed pressure than a standard 118-degree point. With an overall length of 3.375 inches and a 2.1875-inch spiral flute, it is sized for use in standard drill chucks across bench-top drill presses and hand-held drills. The two-flute, regular-spiral design clears chips efficiently during through-hole drilling. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 12 units.
This bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling applications where consistent sizing at the 0.1770-inch diameter is required. Typical install scenarios include sheet metal fabrication, light-duty machining, and general mechanical assembly work involving aluminum workpieces. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard keyed and keyless chucks without modification. Series 2222 bits conform to NAS 907 Type B standards, making them appropriate for aerospace and precision industrial environments where specification compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber-length drill bit conforming to NAS 907 Type B, suitable for use in standard drill presses, CNC drilling machines, and hand-held drills accepting a 0.1770-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material rating is aluminum.
Installation of this bit should be performed by a machinist or mechanical technician familiar with drill press or CNC setup procedures. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before starting a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid or dry-run only as recommended for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace when the split point geometry is no longer intact.
