The CLEVELAND C11663 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for precision hole-making in metal fabrication, maintenance, and production drilling applications. Built from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and requires less feed force than a conventional 118-degree geometry. The No. 9 wire size corresponds to a decimal diameter of 0.1960 inches and an overall length of 3.625 inches, making it a standard jobber reach suitable for a wide range of through-hole and blind-hole work. A tapered web and web-thinned construction help evacuate chips efficiently during the cut.
This bit is rated for heavy-duty drilling and is particularly suited for aluminum and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials, though its HSS construction handles many common shop metals. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard three-jaw drill chucks without adapter. With a 2.4375-inch flute length and regular spiral geometry, it provides adequate chip clearance in typical depth-to-diameter ratios encountered in general machining and mechanical assembly work. It meets NAS 907 Type B specification, making it appropriate for aerospace-adjacent and precision fabrication environments where dimensional and material standards are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use jobber drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1960-inch straight-cylindrical shank, including benchtop drill presses, CNC drill heads, and hand-held power drills used in metalworking and mechanical assembly applications.
Installation is performed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, maintenance mechanics, and production drilling operators. Secure the shank fully in a calibrated three-jaw or keyless chuck and verify concentricity before drilling. Always bring spindle speed in line with recommended surface footage for the workpiece material and bit diameter to avoid premature edge wear. Wear appropriate eye protection and ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured before initiating the cut.
