The CLEVELAND C09727 is a high-speed steel extra length drill bit designed for deeper drilling and long-reach drilling applications where a standard-length bit cannot reach. It features a 7/16 inch diameter, a 118-degree standard point angle, and an oxide finish that provides basic lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting operations. The overall length is 10 inches with a 7.5 inch spiral flute length, giving machinists and tradespeople extended reach without sacrificing rigidity. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust force at entry. Cutting direction is right hand with a regular spiral flute pattern. This bit suits professionals working in fabrication, mechanical contracting, and industrial maintenance.
The C09727 is suited for drilling into cast iron and steel in applications where depth or clearance demands more than a jobber-length bit. Typical use cases include deep-hole work in structural steel, pipe fitting fabrication, and equipment repair where the workpiece geometry requires extended reach. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks across a wide range of drill presses, hand drills, and magnetic base drills. The 950E series is a general-purpose grade appropriate for production and maintenance environments alike.
Designed as a general-purpose extra length drill bit for use in cast iron and steel workpieces. Compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 7/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Meets ASME B94.11M and ANSI specification requirements.
This bit is installed by machinists, millwrights, and tradespeople using drill presses, hand drills, or magnetic base drills. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling steel or cast iron to extend bit life and improve hole quality. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
