The CLEVELAND C09672 is an extra length, high-speed steel drill bit engineered for deeper drilling and long-reach drilling applications. It features a 0.3594-inch diameter with a standard 118-degree point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip clearance at the cutting edge. The spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation over the 5.5-inch flute length. With an 8-inch overall length, this bit reaches deeper into workpieces than standard-length equivalents. The oxide finish provides a baseline level of surface protection. Right-hand cutting direction and a straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks. Designed for use by machinists, maintenance techs, and fabricators working in metal removal applications.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling into cast iron and steel in situations where standard-length bits cannot reach or where a longer reach is required to clear fixturing, deep cavities, or stacked material. Series 950E is a general-purpose extra-length line, appropriate for both manual and machine-fed drilling operations on milling machines, drill presses, and handheld power tools with adequate chuck capacity. It is not intended for coolant-through applications.
Designed as a general-purpose extra-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks on drill presses, milling machines, and handheld power tools. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance personnel familiar with metal drilling operations. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before operation. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing bits. Use appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material to avoid overheating the cutting edge, and apply cutting fluid when drilling steel to extend bit life.
