The CLEVELAND C04471 is a screw machine length (stub length) drill bit designed for high-production drilling in tight-clearance applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit measures 2.25 inches in overall length and 0.1890 inches in diameter, corresponding to wire gauge size 12. The 118-degree standard point geometry and two-flute spiral design deliver clean entry and efficient chip evacuation in a compact form factor. A web-thinned, parallel-web construction reduces thrust force at the cutting point. This bit is used by machinists, pipefitters, and maintenance tradespeople who need controlled hole placement in confined spaces.
The C04471 is suited for general-purpose drilling in alloy steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The short flute length and reduced overall length make it effective on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools where standard-length bits would flex or lack clearance. Right-hand cut and straight-cylindrical shank design allow it to seat directly in standard drill chucks without adapters. Series 2120 bits are built to ASME B94.11M standards, making them a reliable choice for shop floor and field maintenance work.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1890-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and variable-speed hand drills across light manufacturing and maintenance applications.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should secure the bit firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before operation. Ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement during drilling. Disengage power and allow the bit to come to a complete stop before adjusting or removing it from the chuck. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and ANSI machine guarding standards when operating rotating cutting tools.
