The CLEVELAND C03077 is a jobber-length drill bit sized to letter F (0.2570 inches) and designed for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and light manufacturing environments. Built from high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 118-degree standard point and a fast spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The web-thinned, tapered web reduces thrust at entry, making it suitable for hand-fed and machine-fed drilling operations. It conforms to ASME B94.11M and carries an ANSI specification designation. Licensed trades and general machinists are the primary installers of this bit.
This bit is well suited for drilling aluminum as its primary workpiece material, though the high speed steel construction and general-purpose grade also handle a range of softer ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.2570 inches diameter fits standard three-jaw drill chucks without adapters. With an overall length of 4.125 inches and a flute length of 2.875 inches, the C03077 fits the standard jobber-length class and works in bench drill presses, drill motors, and CNC drilling fixtures where a straight-shank bit is called for.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit for use in any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.2570-inch straight-cylindrical shank, including bench drill presses, portable drill motors, and CNC machining centers. No adapter or reducer is required for chucks sized to accept the jobber-length straight-shank class.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the drill chuck before operation and verify chuck key removal prior to powering the machine. For best results in aluminum, use a cutting fluid or lubricant to reduce heat buildup and extend cutting edge life. Cutting speed and feed rate should be set to match the workpiece material per standard machining tables. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if point geometry is compromised.
