The CLEVELAND C02920 is a jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 60, measuring 0.0400 inches in diameter. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a standard 118-degree split point and a fast spiral flute geometry with web thinning for improved chip evacuation and reduced walking on entry. The overall length is 1.625 inches with a flute length of 0.6875 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard chucks. This bit is suited for precision small-hole drilling tasks performed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance trades working with tight-tolerance applications.
The C02920 is designed primarily for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous or soft materials where a small-diameter, general-purpose bit is required. Its fast spiral type promotes efficient chip clearing in shallow-to-moderate depth holes. The two-flute configuration and tapered web design make it well suited for production and maintenance drilling where hole quality and bit longevity in small diameters matter. It conforms to ASME B94.11M and is designated to ANSI specification standards.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in any standard drill press, CNC machine, or hand drill chuck capable of accepting a 0.0400-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Conforms to ASME B94.11M and ANSI specification designation for interchangeability with equivalent wire-gauge No. 60 tooling.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with small-diameter tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Small-diameter HSS bits are brittle under lateral load — avoid side pressure and use consistent feed rates to prevent breakage. Always wear appropriate eye protection when operating rotary cutting tools.
