The CLE-LINE C66114 is a 15-piece cobalt (HSS-CO) jobber length drill bit set with a titanium nitride (TiN) tip coating, covering fractional sizes from 1/16 inch through 1/2 inch in 1/32-inch increments. Built to the 1501-TT series specification and conforming to ANSI standards, these bits feature a 135-degree split point that self-centers on contact and reduces walking on hard materials. The TiN tip coating increases surface hardness and extends cutting life in demanding metalworking applications. The set is stored in a metal index case. It weighs 4.24 pounds. Licensed trade professionals and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This drill bit set is suited for heavy-duty metalworking in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The cobalt steel construction handles high-heat applications such as drilling stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and other hard alloys where standard HSS bits fail prematurely. Right-hand cutting direction, straight shanks, and jobber length geometry make these compatible with standard drill presses, hand drills, and CNC setups. The fractional inch sizing sequence covers the most common hole sizes required in fabrication, HVAC installation, plumbing rough-in, and electrical conduit work.
Designed for use in standard 3-jaw drill chucks accepting straight-shank jobber length bits; straight shanks range from 1/16 inch through 1/2 inch matching the drill diameter at each size, suitable for hand drills, drill presses, and compatible CNC spindles used in fractional-inch metalworking applications.
Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent rotation and bit breakage. Ensure the chuck is tightened fully and the bit runs true before engaging the material. Apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling hard alloys to manage heat buildup and extend bit life. Inspect each bit for chipping or wear before reuse, and replace any bit that shows visible damage to the cutting edge or flutes.
