The CLE-LINE C65808 is a round threading die designed to cut external threads on rod, bolt stock, and cylindrical workpieces. It cuts a 5/16-18 UNC right-hand thread and is machined from high-speed steel (HSS) for durability under repeated use. The die measures 1 inch in outside diameter and 3/8 inch in thickness, fitting standard 1-inch round die stocks. An adjustable design allows the operator to set cutting depth and manage fit tolerance. Machinists, pipefitters, maintenance technicians, and tool-and-die tradespeople use this type of die for threading operations in shop and field settings.
This die is suited for threading mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials in both production and repair applications. The 5/16-18 UNC designation makes it a common choice for general fastener work, equipment repair, and fabrication tasks where unified coarse thread is the specified standard. It is used with a standard 1-inch round die stock or die holder and cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material.
Designed for use with standard 1-inch round die stocks and die holders that accept 1-inch OD round dies cutting 5/16-18 UNC threads.
This die is installed and used by machinists and maintenance tradespeople following standard threading practice. Secure the die firmly in the die stock before beginning any cut, and apply appropriate cutting fluid to extend die life and improve thread quality. Inspect the workpiece diameter against published UNC blank diameter specifications before threading to ensure proper fit. Replace or recondition the die if cutting edges show visible wear or thread quality degrades.
