The CLE-LINE C65628 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads on fasteners, pipe fittings, bolts, and threaded rod. It cuts a 1-1/4-7 UNC thread profile with a right-hand direction and is made from carbon steel for reliable performance in field and shop rethreading work. At 1 inch thick, the die provides adequate thread engagement for clean, accurate cleanup cuts. It is a non-adjustable, fixed-dimension die suited for maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks across mechanical, plumbing, and industrial trades.
This rethreading die is used wherever damaged external threads need to be restored without full part replacement. Typical applications include repair of threaded pipe fittings, structural fasteners, and equipment bolts in maintenance shops, job sites, and service environments. The 1-1/4-7 UNC specification covers a common coarse-thread size found in heavy fasteners and industrial equipment. Trades that regularly use this die include pipefitters, millwrights, and general maintenance mechanics.
Designed for use in standard hex die stocks that accept dies for 1-1/4-7 UNC external thread rethreading applications.
Rethreading dies are installed and operated by mechanics, pipefitters, or maintenance technicians using a compatible hex die stock. Before use, de-burr and clean the damaged thread area to remove loose material and corrosion. Apply cutting oil to the die and the workpiece to reduce heat and extend die life. Do not force the die if significant resistance is encountered, as this can distort the thread profile or damage the die.
