The CLE-LINE C65608 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. Sized for 7/16-14 UNC thread, it cuts right-hand threads in a single pass over a fastener or threaded rod. The hex body profile allows a standard wrench or rethreading die holder to drive the tool with controlled torque. Made from carbon steel, the C65608 is suited for use on mild steel fasteners, bolts, and threaded fittings encountered in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC service work.
This die is used when a bolt, stud, or pipe fitting thread has been damaged by corrosion, cross-threading, or mechanical impact and full replacement is not practical. The 7/16-14 UNC size is common on structural fasteners, equipment mounting hardware, and valve assembly hardware across residential and light commercial applications. It is a non-adjustable fixed-profile die, meaning no setup is required before use. Technicians in HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical service will find this a straightforward field or shop repair tool.
Designed as an OEM-style rethreading die for restoring 7/16-14 UNC right-hand external threads on bolts, studs, and threaded fittings in mechanical and trade service applications.
Use this die to chase damaged external threads by threading it onto the fastener by hand before applying wrench torque. Power down or isolate any system before attempting thread repair on installed fasteners. A thread-cutting lubricant is recommended to extend die life and improve cut quality on steel. This tool does not cut new threads in blank stock - it is intended for restoration of existing thread profiles only.
