The CLE-LINE c62019 is a straight flute hand tap designed for general-purpose threading in a wide range of materials. It cuts a 10-24 UNC right-hand thread to a H3 thread limit and Class 2B fit, making it suitable for standard tolerance applications where controlled fit is required. Built from High Speed Steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tap offers solid wear resistance and enough flexibility to handle both blind hole and through-hole tapping. It carries a 4-flute configuration and a bottoming chamfer, allowing threads to be cut close to the bottom of a blind hole. A square shank provides positive drive engagement with standard tap wrenches or holders.
This tap is intended for manual and machine-assisted tapping operations across a broad range of base metals. The bottoming chamfer style makes it especially useful in blind-hole applications where full thread depth near the bottom of the hole is required. It is compatible with blind hole and through-hole work in steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, and cast iron. The recommended drill size is a No. 26 bit prior to tapping.
Designed for use in blind hole and through-hole tapping operations across steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, and cast iron. ISO material application codes P, K, and N. Use with a No. 26 drill bit for proper thread preparation.
Tapping operations should be performed by a machinist or qualified tradesperson following standard threading procedures. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the correct pilot hole diameter is drilled prior to tapping. Apply cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to reduce friction and extend tap life. Do not force the tap if resistance increases — back off periodically to clear chips, especially in blind holes.
