The CLE-LINE C23212 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel and cast iron. It is made from high speed steel with an oxide coating that provides basic lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting operations. The bit carries a No. 2 wire size designation, corresponding to a decimal diameter of 0.2210 inches. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers the thrust required to initiate the cut, making it well suited for production drilling and repetitive hole-making. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration further reduces cutting resistance. This bit is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with ferrous metals.
The C23212 fits standard jobber-length drilling applications in manufacturing, maintenance, and fabrication environments. It is rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron and steel, covering material codes K and P in the ISO classification system. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in keyed or keyless drill chucks on both bench-top drill presses and portable power drills. The regular spiral flute profile is suited to general-purpose chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. This bit is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 12 units, which makes it practical for shop stocking and tool crib inventory.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or stock drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.2210-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces per ISO material codes K and P.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a keyed or keyless chuck on a drill press or portable drill. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify concentricity before drilling. Use cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life, particularly in continuous-production use. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace any bit showing chipping or excessive wear to maintain hole-diameter tolerance.
