The CLE-LINE C22707 is a jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 7, ground from high speed steel and finished with a black oxide coating. It measures 3.625 inches overall with a 2.4375-inch spiral flute and a straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.2010 inches. The 118-degree standard point angle and two-flute regular spiral geometry deliver consistent chip evacuation on a wide range of materials. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust during entry, making this bit well-suited for production drilling in metal fabrication and general maintenance environments. It conforms to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 standards.
This bit is rated for general-purpose drilling with aluminum listed as the primary workpiece material, and its material code coverage extends to ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as some plastics. The right-hand cutting direction and straight shank make it compatible with standard three-jaw chuck drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling fixtures. It is part of the CLE-LINE Series 1899 jobber-length line, a common choice for job shops, HVAC contractors drilling sheet metal, plumbers sizing pilot holes, and maintenance technicians working across mixed materials.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with any standard drill press, cordless drill, or CNC drilling spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is aluminum, with additional suitability for ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and plastics per material code designations K, N, and P.
A licensed machinist or qualified tradesperson should secure the shank fully in a calibrated chuck before operation. Always clamp or fixture the workpiece to prevent rotation during drilling. Confirm spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter per standard machining reference tables. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if the point geometry is compromised.
