The CLE-LINE C22683 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, plastic, and wood applications. It measures 9/64 inches (0.1406 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 2-7/8 inches and a flute length of 1-3/4 inches. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating that provides basic lubricity and corrosion resistance during use. The standard 118-degree point angle suits a wide range of common workpiece materials. A web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces thrust requirements at entry. This bit is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, HVAC and plumbing tradespeople, and electricians for pilot holes, clearance holes, and general metal fabrication work.
The C22683 is suited for use in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar general-purpose materials. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks on both handheld and bench-mounted drill presses. The 2-flute spiral configuration evacuates chips efficiently in shallow to moderate depth holes. It is packaged individually and commonly purchased in quantities of 12, making it a practical shop consumable for service vans and tool cribs alike.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with any standard three-jaw drill chuck accepting a 9/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC drilling applications within its diameter and material class.
This drill bit is installed by securing the straight shank in a keyed or keyless three-jaw chuck and tightening to the tool manufacturer's specified torque. Ensure the workpiece is clamped securely before drilling to prevent rotation or slipping. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and maintain tolerance. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
