The CLE-LINE C22658 is a jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 48, with a decimal diameter of 0.0760 inches. It is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating that helps resist heat buildup and light corrosion during use. The bit features a standard 118-degree split point, a regular spiral flute, and a straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 2.0 inches with a 1.0-inch flute length, making it well suited to close-tolerance drilling in light-metal and general-purpose machining applications. Two flutes provide efficient chip evacuation. This bit is a general-purpose tool installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals requiring small-diameter precision drilling.
The C22658 is designed for drilling aluminum and similar non-ferrous and ferrous workpiece materials in general-purpose shop, maintenance, and light fabrication settings. The right-hand cut and tapered web configuration are standard for production and repair work where consistent hole geometry in small diameters is required. The 0.0760-inch diameter fits applications where standard fractional sizes are too coarse, such as pilot holes, small fastener clearance holes, and precision layout work.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and drill presses accepting straight-cylindrical shanks at 0.0760-inch diameter.
This bit is installed by machinists and trade technicians in manual or powered drill presses, hand drills, and CNC equipment with an appropriate collet or chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout on critical-tolerance applications. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to extend tool life, noting that this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, as small-diameter bits are susceptible to breakage under side load or excessive feed pressure.
