The CLE-LINE C18067 is a heavy-duty jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in steel and cast iron. It carries a No. 14 wire gauge size corresponding to 0.1820 inches in diameter. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking at startup and lowers thrust requirements compared to a standard 118-degree point. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a black and gold oxide coating that provides mild lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting operations. Overall length is 3.375 inches with a flute length of 2.1875 inches. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard three-jaw chucks used on drill presses, hand drills, and CNC machines.
This bit is suited for metal fabrication, maintenance and repair operations, and production drilling in residential and light commercial settings. It handles ferrous materials including mild steel and cast iron. The right-hand spiral flute and web-thinned tapered web configuration improve chip evacuation in through-hole drilling applications. Installers in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades commonly use jobber bits of this size when drilling sheet metal panels, junction boxes, pipe straps, and structural brackets. No coolant-through capability is present, so conventional cutting fluid applied externally is standard practice for extended tool life.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill replacement fitting any standard three-jaw drill chuck that accepts a 0.1820-inch straight cylindrical shank, including drill presses, cordless and corded hand drills, and CNC drill heads.
A licensed machinist, maintenance technician, or qualified tradesperson should secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify concentricity before drilling. Power down and lock out the machine before changing bits. Apply cutting fluid externally when drilling steel or cast iron to extend bit life and manage heat. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate for the workpiece material; excessive pressure can fracture the split point or work-harden the material surface.
