Chief - Legrand CMS492CP2 Ceiling Storage Box 2x2

Product Description

The CHIEF - LEGRAND CMS492CP2 is a ceiling storage box designed for 2x2 grid ceiling installations that include an integrated column and power supply provisions. This enclosure mounts above a standard drop ceiling grid and provides a concealed housing for AV or low-voltage distribution equipment. It is engineered for environments where clean cable management and accessible overhead equipment storage are required. Installation is typically performed by AV integrators, electricians, or low-voltage technicians working on commercial display or projection system deployments.

This ceiling storage box is suited for commercial and institutional environments such as conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, and other spaces using drop ceiling grid systems. The included column and power provisions make it appropriate for complete suspended display or projector mount assemblies where a single overhead enclosure houses cabling, signal distribution, or power conditioning hardware.

Key Features

• Designed for 2x2 drop ceiling grid installations
• Includes column component for suspended mount integration
• Integrated power provisions for overhead AV equipment
• Concealed enclosure keeps cabling and hardware above the ceiling plane
• Sold as a single unit (each)

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style ceiling storage solution compatible with standard 2x2 drop ceiling grid systems used in commercial AV and low-voltage installation applications.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage technician or licensed electrician familiar with suspended ceiling structures and commercial AV mounting standards. De-energize all circuits in the work area before making any electrical connections inside the enclosure. Verify that the ceiling grid and supporting structure meet the load requirements for the full assembled weight of the box, column, and any mounted equipment. Local building codes and NEC requirements for low-voltage wiring in plenum spaces should be followed.
