The CHICAGO-LATROBE 47260 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal and ferrous materials. It features a 3.10 mm (0.1220 inch) diameter, a standard 118-degree point angle, and a black oxide coating that reduces friction and provides moderate corrosion resistance during operation. The bit runs a regular spiral flute geometry with a tapered web and web-thinned point to improve chip evacuation and reduce the thrust required to start the hole. Right-hand cutting direction and a straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople are the primary users of this bit.
This bit is built for general-purpose metal drilling applications including steel and cast iron. At 65.00 mm (2.5591 inches) overall length with a 36.00 mm (1.4173 inch) flute length and a 29.00 mm (1.1418 inch) shank, it fits the jobber-length profile suited for bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drill operations at lighter diameters. The Series 150 designation and DIN 338 specification indicate a standardized geometry consistent with international tooling requirements. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 12 units.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in steel and cast iron workpieces. Fits any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1220-inch straight cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 338 specification for Series 150 jobber-length drill bits.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck before operation and verify chuck key is removed before powering the machine. Do not exceed the recommended speed range for the workpiece material and bit diameter. Inspect the cutting edges and web condition before each use and replace bits showing chipping, rounding, or thermal discoloration.
